Pastors Theodore & Yolanda Ward
Senior Pastor Theodore W. Ward
Theodore W. Ward was born to Roberta Barnett and John W. Ward on June 9th, 1958, in Brooklyn New York. He became a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. At age 10, Apostle Arturo Skinner of Brooklyn, prophesied that he would become a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ when he was 12 years old.
Ted left Brooklyn to join the United States Navy at the age of 18. After 4 years of military service he went on to attend San Diego Community College and to continued his education in Psychology at National University College of San Diego, where he met and married his wife Yolanda Y. Thomas, they are the parents of eight children, Theodore Jr., La Mont, Joseph, Cedrick, Courtney, Joshua, Tiffany, and David.
In 1980 at the age of 21 Ted gave his heart to Christ Jesus and became a member of Jackson Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Bishop Charles E. Blake Sr. Rev. Ted became a member of the choir and integral part of the youth ministry. Rev. Ted would later become a member of St. Stevens C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of then, Pastor George D. McKinney, there he and other young adults started a street ministry called The Block Busters. They were an evangelistic team of young adults who went out into the streets on Friday and Saturday nights engaging gang members, drugs dealers, and ladies of the nights to have an encounter with the living Christ Jesus.
Pastor Ward received his minister’s license in August of 1986 by Jurisdictional Bishop George D. McKinney of St. Stevens C.O.G.I.C. San Diego CA.
In January of 1990 as a member of Gospel Memorial C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of Pastor Joe Ealy, Rev. Ward was ordained in Los Angeles CA by now Presiding Bishop of the C.O.G.I.C., Bishop Charles E. Blake Jr. Pastor of West Los Angles COGIC. Pastor Ward has been the coordinator of several Outreach, Prison, Men, and Nursing Home Ministries in CA and NY.
Pastor Ward retired from the U.S. Navy in June 1998 and settled in the Capital Region. Pastor Ward became a member on NBC COGIC in Schenectady NY and later Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. where in May of 2005 through senior advice from his ecclesiastical leadership and the prompting of God in his heart, Koinonia Christian Ministries came into fruition.
In 2007 Pastor Ted assisted in the Apostolic Mission’s Ministry to Nairobi Kenya in North Africa, Churches were established and many life’s were born into the kingdom of God. In 2007 he received a Bachelor degree in Theology and plans to complete his Masters degree by 2010.
